A Basic Computer, ABC or the first Central Processing Unit built in Suriname.
The purpose of this lab is to teach students the inner workings of a digital computer. It does so by explaining the fundamentals functions of A Basic Computer (ABC). ABC is primitive, in particular compared with even the most simple personal computer microprocessor. However ABC’s architecture does follow the standard structure of a stored-program concept computer.
Plans and building instructions for the ABC machine are available for any schools or student interested in computing machines. Parts are available a Vanguard ECE Labs.
